About Me

Is this your homework, Larry?! — Walter Sobchak

Hi, I'm Dave.

I'm an art director, photographer, and illustrator-in-training.

I'm never satisfied. I'm cool under pressure. I appreciate the small stuff, and I shower daily — because that's where they keep all the best ideas.

I'm a sushi lover, music lover, racquetballer, board gamer, and an incredibly spoiled Boston sports fan with an unhealthy attention to detail and a decade of experience creating for TV, print, digital, social, SnapFace, InstaChat and whatever’s next.

When I was 14 I used Photoshop for the first time. Pivotal. At 17, I got a hold of my parents' Canon A-1, 35mm camera. I wiped away a thick layer of dust. I put in a roll of film. I never looked back. These days, whether I'm crafting an ad campaign, shooting a wedding or photographing on the streets of Boston, one thing is a constant—

I love to create.

My work has been featured in Nylon Magazine, People Magazine, Boston Magazine, on the Behance Network, and on PhotographyServed.com.

I live happily in the South End with my wife and our giant collection of vintage cameras. One of these days we're going to get a Corgi. They're so darned cute, it's ridiculous.

Inspiration is for amateurs —
the rest of us just show up and get to work.
